and I developed a love affair with toothbrushes after my first teeth came through :-=

Crawling!

Monday 13th July 2009 - I'm declaring this Lena's first day of crawling! It is the first day that she brings her knees forward one at a time (instead of together) and the first day that she doesn't get frustrated when I put her on her tummy - instead she just moves forward. Slowly, deliberately towards me, fingers splayed and knees wide.
This is taken Sunday 19 July on Nan's birthday at Roma St Parklands. Already Lena is crawling faster and more confidently.

Scuttling around furniture

22.06.2009 We had a lovely but very rainy long weekend in Caloundra. This was the first time that Lena really started to stand and shuffle along furniture - the couch, coffee tables and set of drawers were just the right height!

Rock, rattle and roll

18.06.2009 Our now child safe deck is an excellent place for rolling about and playing with new toys. Thanks for all that hard work Dad and Grand-Frank, and for the painting Mum ;-) Lena is happier for longer on her tummy outdoors.

Will's 1st Birthday Party

18.06.2009 Today was a picnic in the park for Will's first birthday (Will is the one with the toy xylophone hamming it up for the camera). The babies had a great time rolling and crawling around the picnic blankets (for the 7-8 month olds), crawling around the playground (for the big 1 year olds), grabbing at cake, watching bubbles, thumping musical instruments and grabbing at cake again. Lena totally crashed out afterwards as you can see. This is one of the first few days of a forward facing car seat - it has revolutionised car travel!

Shifting weight

17.06.2009 Lena here shifting her weight from one arm to the other after pulling herself to her feet. She practised that for a day or two and then it was all about pulling the toys out of the box!

Pulling to standing

14.06.2009 This is Lena pulling herself to standing on the bars of her cot for the first time. She loved it and chatted away to herself for ages... baba baba... lorikeet screeching sounds... aba aba.

Laughter is infectious

14.06.2009 Lena and I having a laughing session. I tickle her and she starts to giggle, laugh and then shriek like a lorikeet which gets me laughing too... and we can't stop making each other laugh!

Post bath crazy hair

05.06.2009 Some long wispy bits of hair gone a bit wild. The long bits are Lena's original hair, slowly being replaced by much lighter golden hair.

Lena and her 'L' friends

This is is Luka, Lulu and Lena playing together at mums and babies group this week. Lulu is 6.5 months and Luka and Lena only 2 days apart. They are super cute 'talking' to each other, and as they can't move beyond where they are put down to sit, there is not much hair pulling or eye gouging... yet.

6 months!

Lena is already 6 months! The time has flown. We're just hanging out here in the back garden on the 18.05.09. Lena is 7kg now - more than double her birth weight. That's a lot of breastmilk!

First time in the high chair

It was a chilly morning late April when Lena had her first go in the high chair. Slap slap slap on the plastic with feet wiggling like crazy.

Sitting up on her own

At just over five months Lena is sitting up on her own... and loving it. The pillows are there in case a toy rolls away and she dives for it!

Jeremy's birthday

New Farm park for Jeremy's birthday. Lena LOVES standing. She holds her hands up when she wants you to take them and help her to standing position. There is always a 'hah' happy sound when standing is achieved!

Time is flying - Lena 5 months

The time is flying by. Lena at 5 months is swimming in the air and playing with toys. This is at Easter at Grandpa and Nan's house.

Lena is 4 months old

At 4 months Lena is getting mobile - rolling, smiling, grabbing and 'caterpillaring' which involves lifting her bum, shuffling forward with her face on the sheets and getting frustrated!

Jen and Adam get hitched

We went to the beautiful NSW south coast for Jen and Adam's wedding. A wonderful spot and some great times with friends.

Straddie!

I had a great week on Straddie and had my first swim!

Garden party

Mum and Dad took me to a garden party at Simon and Kirsten's place - there were chooks!

Dad built me a very silly mobile mobile stand - what can I say ... I'm transfixed!
